雷丁大学（英语：University of Reading）是英国一所公立大学，创立于1892年。大学现有四个校区，位于英国南部的伯克郡雷丁市周边。1926年接受皇家宪章。
雷丁大学在教育领域做出了巨大的成就，1998年、2005年、2009年和2011年四度获得女王周年奖。它是英国著名的研究型大学之一，世界排名在300位以内。
历史
雷丁学院
该大学的前身是1860和1870年代在雷丁成立的文理学院。1892年雷丁学院（College at Reading）由牛津大学基督堂学院作为其本身在雷丁的分校区成立。首任院长是哈尔福德·麦金德。同年雷丁议会将原先的文理学院并入雷丁学院。
1901年新学院收到来自财政部的第一笔资金，次年亨利和帕梅拉公司中的帕梅拉家族又赐其伦敦路校区（London Road Campus）地皮。该家族帮助学院分别在1908年建造“万蒂奇堂”（Wantage Hall）和1912年建造“制酪业研究所”（Research Institute in Dairying）。
大学地位
1920年雷丁学院申请皇家宪章欲成为正式的大学，但遭到拒绝。1925年第二次申请才通过，次年3月17日正式发布，而雷丁学院也就变成了雷丁大学（University of Reading）。该大学是英格兰在两次世界大战之间创建的唯一一所大学。
1947年雷丁大学买下白骑士公园并将其作为主校区所在地，1984年雷丁大学开始与布莱米什高等教育学院（Bulmershe College of Higher Education）合并，1989年合并完成。
2006年10月，传出物理学部（Physics Department）因资金不足等原因将要关闭的消息，该消息引发了多发关注。最终在同月20日正式批准。然而随后一大批学科也相继关闭，它们包括音乐、社会学、地理学和机械工程学部。2009年3月又决定关闭非常受新生欢迎的健康和社会关怀学院（School of Health and Social Care）。
2008年1月，雷丁大学宣布将令亨利管理学院并入其中形成亨利商学院，并将其原有的MBA课程和ICMA中心也并入其中。同年8月1日生效，该商学院分隔开白骑士校区和格陵兰校区（Greenlands Campus），后者是原先亨利管理学院所在地。
2009年9月学校开始重组，该工程波及到了全校所有部门。年末宣布将花费3000万英镑翻新伦敦路校区，并预计将其作为学校教育研究所的所在地。
雷丁大学是UTC雷丁的主要捐助者，后者是一个在2013年9月成立的大学技术学院。

科系
该大学下有三个系，分别是艺术、人文和社会科学系（Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science）、生命科学系（Faculty of Life Sciences）和理学系（Faculty of Science）。此外亨利商学院也属于雷丁大学。
排名
根据2008年科研评估，雷丁大学的法学院在全英排在11位以内，依照侧重点不同略有变化。其气象学部在2005年获得女王周年奖。
